Inside the EJS Installer Workshop: More Than Just Training
Our 2025 Installer Workshop was anything but ordinary. Led by Product Specialist Scott Boyer and supported by a dozen others (facilitators, coordinators, crate and loading support, tour guides, etc.—it takes a village!), in September we welcomed 22 attendees to Pennsylvania to become certified expansion joint installers. We spent two days together at Penn College in Williamsport and at our CS location in Muncy, and we accomplished a lot!
Expansion joint solutions have historically been among our most complex products to install, so we strive to take a comprehensive approach to this two-day program. It’s one of our favorite annual events, and we believe it sets the standard for learning and collaboration.
What Made It Stand Out
Participants took a deep dive into product specifications and installation techniques with live demos, real-world troubleshooting, and practical hands-on advice. This year, some highlights were tips to eliminate callbacks, mitering and splicing, fire barriers, and the installation of our revamped 2G systems.
There was also a Q&A session where honest conversations were held on the challenges we meet in the field. Everyone involved was encouraged to give feedback, and it was a productive exchange of ideas and experiences.
The Lasting Takeaways
Attendees left with an improved understanding of installation procedures and compliance requirements. By actively engaging and sharing experiences and challenges, participants learned lessons that are not obtainable by simply reading a manual.
Plus, they had a chance to see the bigger picture by taking a behind-the-scenes tour of our Muncy facilities and spending time with different teams.
Two pieces of feedback we heard repeatedly after this year’s workshop:
“I saw and learned way more than I expected,” was a common refrain and exactly what we like to hear. Additionally, many had never attended a workshop like this and said they felt part of the CS family, which is a huge win for us all.
CS hosts an Installer Workshop every year. Interested in an intensive onsite seminar with the industry leaders who pioneer new expansion joint cover technologies? Be on the lookout for more information about the 2026 workshop.
